About The Property

Welcome to the Pigfoot Inn, located at 121 E Main Street in the heart of historic Somerset, Ohio. This property sits just steps from Pigfoot Square, the original center of town in 1810. The square quickly became the site of Perry County’s earliest agricultural fairs and markets, as well as a major stop along Zane’s Trace, one of the first frontier roads in Ohio. Today, the square remains a proud landmark and centerpiece of the Somerset Historic District.

The building you’re staying in is a classic example of an American I-house, a style common throughout 19th- and early-20th-century Ohio. uilt in 1885, the home retains many original architectural features and has been carefully restored to celebrate its heritage. Though modernized for comfort, the space still echoes the character of its past—from its symmetrical layout to its decorative trim—offering guests a truly authentic small-town Ohio experience.

Our name, the Pigfoot Inn, pays homage to the property’s connection to Pigfoot Square and the early traditions of this community. We invite you to relax and explore the stories that surround you here, knowing you’re staying in a home with more than a century of history and a location that’s been central to Somerset’s story for over 140 years.
